Angkor Wat & Northern Vietnam
Day 1- Siem Reap arrival
On arrival in Siem Reap, meeting tour guide and moving to the hotel. Siem Reap is the base for exploring the fabled temples of Angkor, the ancient capital of the Khmer empire. After one or some hours relax, driving to Angkor area for watching the sun set at Phnom Bakheng and getting brief information about this area.
Day 2- Siem Reap – Angkor Temples (B)
Enjoying the Tuk Tuk in the early morning to the jungle-covered temple of Ta Phrom and coming back to hotel for breakfast at 07:30. One hour later, begining to explore at Angkor Thom City by west gate. From the enigmatic faces of Bayon temple to the intricate bas reliefs of the Terrace of the Elephants, Angkor Thom is filled with fabulous monuments. Having lunch at local restaurant on your own account. After that, driving to Banteay Srei which was built in 967 AD by Jayavarman V's guru. It showcases the most exquisite, deep and complex carvings in all Khmer architecture.

Day 3- Siem Reap – Tonle Sap Lake - Hanoi (B/L)
After breakfast, enjoying a short walk through a tranquil and typical Siem Reap neighborhood before taking a drive to Tonle Sap Lake to board a local boat for a cruise through the floating villages (best from July to February). Returning to the town before lunch time.
Afternoon, flying to Hanoi.
Day 4 - Hanoi City Tour – Night train to Lao Cai (B)
After breakfast, having a full day to see Hanoi city. Visitors will have many options to choose from:
- Temple of Literature, built in 11th Century and the country’s first University
- Ho Chi Minh’s (HCM) Mausoleum and Presidential Palace
- HCM’s Stilt House
- One Pillar Pagoda
- Ethnology Museum
- Opera House
- Hoa Lo prison which is also known as the “Hanoi Hilton”
- West Lake & Pagoda
Enjoying a Water Puppet show in the evening then having a leisurely dinner while waiting for the 21:00 departure on the deluxe Night train to LaoCai.
Overnight on train in air conditioned cabin.
Day 5 - Lao Cai – Sapa (B/L)
Enjoying breakfast while waiting for hotel check-in, catching a few hours of rest or venture out to discover the beautiful mountain landscapes and ethic minority groups of Sapa. Trekking to the village of Cat Cat & Sin Chai for 2 hours. Trekking down to the valley among the terraced fields and meeting the hill tribes people, getting to know their way of life, cultures and traditions.
Going back to Sapa in the afternoon.
Day 6- Sapa – Trekking to Hill tribe villages – Night train to Hanoi (B/L)
Beginning with a walking tour of Sapa market, then trekking down hill from village to villages around Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai and Ta Van area which is beautifully decorated by terraced-fields and the house of H'mong, Red Zao and Zay people.
Great opportunity for taking photos of breathtaking landscapes, meeting friendly hill-tribe people at home and work...
Have home hosted lunch in the village of Zday people.
Day 7: Hanoi – Halong bay Cruise (B/L/D)
Meeting tour guide in the morning at Hanoi’s railway station. After breakfast, having over 3 hours drive along the country side of the Red River Delta to the UNESCO world’s heritage site of Halong Bay.
A traditional style Vietnamese Junk Cruise will sail at noon. Lunch will be served on board amidst spectacular views of the bay.
Visiting one of the largest caves in Halong Bay and included is a beach stop where perhaps visitors may want to take a swim or dip in the water of the South China Sea.
Having a fresh seafood dinner on board.
Day 8 - Halong Bay Cruise - Hanoi (brunch)
Participating in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply watching the sunrise over the magnificent bay. Enjoying morning cup of coffee or juice before setting out to the near- by cave on row boat. Watching for monkeys high on the cliff tops. Returning back to the junk, where breakfast is served, while sailing around Bay Tu Long bay where the film “Indochine” was made.
The cruise will end at noon and then meeting tour guide and driver for the trip back to Hanoi.
Day 9- Hanoi – Departure (B)
Having breakfast in the hotel and free until the transfer time, Driver will transfer visitors to the airport for departure.
