SAPA - BAC HA MARKET


Sapa, the quiet Vietnamese town is home to a population which consists mostly of minority groups. There are five main ethnic groups in Sapa: the Hmong, Dao, Tay, Giay and Xa Pho. It is said that Sapa was first occupied by the first four groups, since the Vietnamese from the lowlands (better known as the Kinh) did not colonise the highest valleys.
 

Night 01 HANOI - LAO CAI (Overnight on the train)

Thursday night at 8.30pm, we pick you up at your hotel and take you to Tran Quy Cap Station. Night on train.
 

Day 02 LAO CAI - SAPA (B/ L/ D)

Arrive Lao Cai train station. Have breakfast. Departure for Sapa by minibus. Stop on route in the villages populated by H’mong and Dzay people, respectively called Lao Chai and Ta Van. Arrive Sapa.
After lunch, visit the two Black H’mong villages and a waterfall. There you’ll have a chance to see the hydroelectric power station built by the French.  Back for dinner, the evening is yours. Night in Sapa.


 Day 03 (SATURDAY) SAPA (B/ L/ D)

After breakfast, departure to visit a minority village: Giang Ta Chai, where most of the inhabitants are Red Dzao. Have lunch in the village. Back to Sapa.
After dinner, you will have chance to visit Love Market (only on Saturday nights).
Night in Sapa.

 

Day 04 (SUNDAY) SAPA - BAC HA - HANOI    (B/ L/ D)

Have breakfast at hotel. Depart Sapa for Bac Ha to visit the vivid and colorful minority market. You’ll have 3 hours to stroll around the unique Flower H’mong village and Bac Ha Market before heading back to Sapa
Have lunch either with an ethnic minority family or on the way back to Lao Cai to catch a night train back to Hanoi at 20.00pm.  Night on train

 

Day 05: Arrival in the city about 5.00 on Monday morning. Transfer to teh hotel in Hanoi.
